Valentine' day Special : 'Flip-heart' greeting card :D

Hi people!! 'Something Different' is back with the second greeting card tutorial of 'Valentine's Day Special Series'. Well, this is how the card looks like:

and if you open it, it will unfold your love message :

Lets get started then!

Step 1: This card has five folded parts. So I have taken 5cm x 25cm long black strip to form a base of the card. You can customize the card size as per your wish, just make sure that it is foldable in five equal parts.

Fold the this strip as shown in the picture below. We have to make alternate folds here.

Step 2: We are gonna need 6 white squares of size 4 cm x 4 cm for writing our secret love message. (One square is to be kept blank. So make sure that your message is well-arranged on the remaining 5 white squares.) I used MS-word to make a tabular template as shown in following image. Each cell of the table is of size 4 cm x 4 cm. Then I printed it out the message and cut out all the squares.

Instead of using a printed message, you can totally hand write it and give it more personal touch. :)

Step 3: Paste each of the white squares (with message on it) on the black strip such that it is centrally aligned on each folded part.

Step 4: Now we are gonna paint a red heart on the remaining blank white square. You can customize this step as you like. e.g you can paint a rose or a teddy bear etc.

Step 5: Now paste this red heart on the back side of the black strip (just behind the square with 'Dear you').

Step 6: Take a red ribbon about 45 cm in length. And paste it middle portion of the ribbon on the part next to the heart. (Refer to image below.)

Step 7: Fold the black strip. And tie a knot of ribbon as shown. (Your ribbon will make a plus sign on backside on the folded stack.)

And in the front you will get a cute, little bow :)

That's it guys!! Your Valentine's day card with secret hidden message is ready!! Use it well ;)

Let me know if you liked this tutorial. I hope you enjoy making this card. Stay tuned for more craftsy stuff by 'Something Different'! :)
