Valentine's Day Special : 'beating heart' greeting card tutorial

Hello there!! Hope you all are doing well. As Valentine's day is nearing, 'Something Different' has brought for you some simple tutorials of greeting cards for your someone special. :) First of this series is a lovely 'beating heart' card.

Step 1: We are gonna make a 3-D heart. For that we are gonna need three heart shape cut outs. (length 4.5 cm approx) I have used plain white drawing paper and then painted three parts as shown in the picture below. If you want, you can totally use red colour printed paper instead. Two of our heart cutouts are folded in middle as shown.

Step 2: Now apply an adhesive (e.g. fevicol) to the edges of the folded hearts, and then stick these two parts on the either sides of the middle (all red) heart cutout. Ta-da, there's our 3-D heart! :D Now keep it aside for drying.

Step 3: Lets start with the main card base. I have taken a white drawing paper of size 26 cm x 11.5 cm, folded width-wise to get a card of size 13 cm x 11.5 cm. Now, by keeping margins as shown in picture below, I have cut out the middle rectangular portion.

Step 4 : With the help of punching machine, I have punched a hole in our 3-D heart (Ouch!) Make sure it is perfectly in the center.

Step 5 : Take 18 cm long thread and double it. Make a knot of this thread through 3-D heart as shown in following images.

Step 6:  Make a small hole in our base card as shown and pass one end of the thread through it. And then tie a knot or two on the back side as shown. Cut the extra thread, if any.

Step 6 : Write your love-message on the card and there you go, a simple, loving 'beating heart' valentine's card is ready!! If you give a small tap to the heart, it will start beating :D

Well I like it simple as it is, but you can of course add more embellishments to it, if you like!

Thank you for visiting 'Something Different' :) Hope you liked this tutorial. Keep in touch for more of such crafty tutorials. Cheers!!!
